Eight years after date, the former Bosnian Dutchbat interpreter Hadzic, the Serbian sergeant Bokan and the Dutch Minister of Defence Terhoef are confronted with each other at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague. The thread through this triptych is Hadzic's story. He works at the The Hague Tribunal as an interpreter and has only one goal in mind: to find back his disappeared family. In episode one, Hadzic thinks he recognises sergeant Bokan at a trial as one of the police officers who took away his relatives. When Bokan's case is dismissed, Hadzic takes the former sergeant hostage. Episode two tells Bokan's story. He tries to prove his innocence to his kidnapper. The third episode focuses on Terhoef. A couple of years after the kidnapping, the former minister travels to Srebrenica as a member of a European delegation. His short stay ends in a nightmare.
