Enneagram - Hotel Bellevue

Series, 2003, 50 min.

The enneagram is a circle enclosing a nine-pointed figure. The theory is that the points represent different types of personality, of which every man possesses one basic type that will never change. In each episode of the nine-part TV series Het enneagram, a different archetype is treated. Hotel Bellevue focuses on the loyalist. In surrealistic images, the story is told of the two brothers Gideon and Hendrick, who run an old family hotel in the catholic village of Eindigem. When a necktie salesman hangs himself from a water pipe, it causes a huge leakage. The two brothers are dumbfounded when a few hours later all the water has disappeared, leaving behind only a wet patch on the hotel front. When the patch dries up and the face of Jesus appears, the whole village is topsy-turvy. Miracle or not, Hendrick sees his earnings grow while Gideon, the loyalist, desperately tries to tell the parish priest and his fellow-villagers the truth.
