De jacht op de match

Documentary, 2017, 88 min.

For years, the case of the serial rapist in Utrecht was a cold case, which remained unsolved despite a long-term and large-scale police investigation. Until suddenly in 2014 a DNA match was found and a suspect was arrested. This reconstruction of the case raises questions about the importance of DNA research in criminal cases. Would a breakthrough have been reached earlier if all citizens had been obliged to submit a sample for a national DNA data bank? Is such an obligation a good idea, or would it be too big a violation of privacy?
