Mother Mieke and the boys gather around the patriarch’s sickbed. Will their father survive? What to do with the family firm now? De Maatschap is a contemporary history play depicting the story of a lawyers’ dynasty in the fast changing post-war Netherlands. How a father creates a peerless empire ex nihilo, and how his sons ruin this Partnership, his magnum opus. The series is a dramatised interpretation of information that was carefully obtained from various sources. Facts and fiction intermingle. The makers did not intend to reflect a truthful version of events and characters.
