Amadeu Amadeu

Short documentary, 1993, 43 min.

Anger and outrage stimulated documentary-maker Karin Junger to make the documentary Amadeu Amadeu. The film examines how an Angolan contract worker who works in a small town in the former GDR was brutally killed by a gang of skinheads. It is only when the widow of the victim managed to flee to West Berlin several months later that the case became public and a preliminary investigation was started. The documentary does not just provide a reconstruction of the brutal and arbitrary murder, but also looks at events that preceded the violent confrontation using statements by relatives, two culprits, a policeman who was present and a bar owner.
