Film for Philo

Short documentary, 1995, 41 min.

Road-movie-like documentary about Phil Lynott, the singer/bass-player of the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy who died in 1986. In the hope that they might play a song at the memorial concert for their idol Phil Lynott, Leon Giesen and Erik de Bruyn left on the first day of 1995 to Dublin. During a quest for the fragments of the legend, they find Lynott's parental home, visit his grave, meet a friend from his youth and interview his mother and two ex-band-menbers. At the end of the documentary, illustrated by historic concert fragments and covers they play themselves, brings the flamboyant Lynott and his dark side back to life.
