Noorderlicht - Killing Time

-, 1999, 24 min.

Short documentary presents the ideas of the British physicist Julian Barbour, who surprisingly concludes that time does not exist and hence finds himself on the cutting edge between two great physical theories of the last century: Albert Einstein's General Theory of Relativity and Quantum Mechanics. For years, physicists have tried to bring both theories in line with each other in the hope of finding one universal theory for the universe. Awarded the Edward Muybridge Award 2000.
