Ten Monologues from the Lives of the Serial Killers

Feature film, 1994, 60 min.

Experimental film in which ten monologues are used to illustrate the
phenomenon of serial killer. Using a combination of authentic and fictional
sound fragments, pornographic films and found footage, the film shows the
context in which serial murders take place. Director Ian Kerkhof does not try
to fathom the serial murderer, but rather makes a statement about disorder and decay in contemporary society. Kerkhof sees serial killers as symptomatic of the end of an era; their lack of motives reflects our waning faith in politics, religion and philosophy.
