Noorderlicht - De geheugendetector

Short documentary, 2001, 24 min.

Episode from the VPRO series Noorderlicht about a revolutionary new technology, 'Brain Fingerprinting', which can be used in solving criminal cases and in exonerating innocent suspects. In a scientific way, 'Brain Fingerprinting' resolves the main question as to whether or not a suspect has stored any details of the crime in his brains. The technique is based on the detection of so-called MERMERs (memory and encoding related multifaceted electroencephalographic responses), a refined form of unconscious brain activity that occurs after details are presented that are relevant to the person involved.
