Het scherpe oog van Aat Veldhoen

Short documentary, 2015, 55 min.

In the 1960s, the Amsterdam-based artist Aat Veldhoen acquired fame by selling ‘prints for the people’ for a song, thereby screwing up his market position. Filmmaker Kees Hin follows the now aged painter, who after a stroke a decade ago was forced to learn to paint left-handed, up close and personal. His eye for female beauty appears to be intact. With due pride, Veldhoen leads the camera around the Rijksmuseum, where on the occasion of his eightieth birthday an exhibition of his graphics is arranged.
