Benjamins droom

Short documentary, 1997, 29 min.

The biggest wish of Benjamin, a game warden's son in a nature reserve in Zimbabwe, is to become an elephant tamer. So, he does everything to get to the elephant camp. He illegally sells wooden elephant statues, carved by a woodcutter friend, to pay for the train journey there. The film, made to introduce Dutch children to the lives of children in other parts of the world, also shows the dilemmas of protecting wild animals in the reserve.
