De carrièreplanning van de scholekster

Short documentary, 1998, 42 min.

Documentary about the research by ornithologist Bruno Ens and his team of the feeding habits of the oystercatcher. After several oystercatchers have been ringed, the birds are followed from hides. Their flight movements are carefully recorded. How long does it take the birds to fly from their foraging grounds and from which foraging ground do they gather food for their chicks? It is striking to see that some birds make their nests close to the rich mud flats, while others nest far from them. Why do these birds do this?
