Mother Lena is central in Gek van Geluk. She writes love songs, but because of a lack of romance little comes out of her pen. Then the singer and her best friend Valerie concocts a solution: she hires an unemployed actor to bring Lena's head to the brink of inspiration. Lena falls in love with the attractive Hugo and the plan seems to succeed. Until Lena's belly is so full of butterflies that a new hit single is the last thing she thinks about. In a desperate attempt to get Lena to write, Valerie puts their years of friendship on the line and makes the truth come true.
