Ongeregeld goed

Short documentary, 1996, 40 min.

Documentary about the rise and flourishing of the trade in second-hand clothes. Since the mid-sixties, second-hand clothing has been a major fashion item in the Western world. Traders take advantage of this by selecting potentially remunerative items from truck-loads of give aways. The documentary Ongeregeld goed sketches, using conversations with three insiders, a picture of the world of second-hand clothing. Amsterdam Flea-Market trader Ger Horn talks about the history and development of the trade. Laura Dols runs a boutique in the heart of the Jordaan district and André Noorda is one of the new generation of fashion designers who use what they find on the second-hand market for their creations.
