ALS de Dood

Short documentary, 2012, 58 min.

In December 2009, the Amsterdam-based musician and entrepreneur Miron Komarnicki is diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). This motor neuron disease gradually switches off all bodily functions. His survival time is estimated at 18 months. Filmmaker Julia Strijland follows Miron, his wife Herma and their son Zoran in their daily life. Gradually, they focus less on the approaching end, and the ode to life, friendship and love gains the upper hand.
