Summery morality sketch of contemporary Amsterdam. Dimitri, the 'bridesmaid' of the title, has a platonic relationship and is the type of man women prefer to talk to, rather than sleep with. Gino, the 'bastard', is a mysterious macho, whose girlfriend does not want to go steady with him because he tends to be aggressive and unreliable. The paths of both young men cross regularly, without them actually meeting.
