Barber shop Schorem on the Nieuwe Binnenweg in Rotterdam is not only a household word in the Netherlands. Even in Asia, people know about this men-only hairdressers’ salon, where the barbers not only give men a shave and haircut, but also entertain their guests with music, drinks and a fine conversation. Aspiring barbers are often just picked from the street and the haircuts are classics from hairdo history. Their success seems unequalled by now. A glimpse of a unique men’s world in 2014 A.D.
