Het fluisteren van Eric Vloeimans

Documentary, 2012, 75 min.

?My music deals with life; with beauty, with rancidness. It personifies what I am.? Says Eric Vloeimans, one of the best jazz trumpet players in the Netherlands who, according to pianist Hans Vroomans, ?can whisper on a trumpet?. He is followed in daily life, blowing the horn on his couch at home, rehearsing with a symphony orchestra, doing lip exercises while driving to a concert at Oerol with Kyteman. In the voice-over and right in front of the camera, Vloeimans explains what music and the incessant performances mean for him, his love of the instrument, his initial insecurity and what he does to make sure everything sounds as he hears it in his head. The film includes extensive recordings of various gigs, such as with Spinvis, soprano Claron McFadden and the Metropole Orchestra.
