Het drielandenpunt

Short documentary, 1974, 33 min.

Since 1931, director Frans Bromet?s Jewish father has never set foot on German soil again. In this documentary, the filmmaker follows his parents and a friendly couple on 4 May, when they commemorate the dead near Vaals, the place where Holland, Belgium and Germany meet. He tries to persuade his father to illegally cross the border to the deeply hated neighbouring country. A physically small, but mentally huge step, which leads to some remarkable contemplations.
