Lamentations of Judas

Documentary, 2020, 93 min.

IN DEVELOPMENT / PRODUCTION. The notorious black Angolan 32-Batallion once fought white South Africa’s colonial wars. Today they languish in the ruins of Pomfret, a former asbestos mining town. A confrontation with their past occurs when they become actors in the story of Judas Iscariot. Pivoting between biblical myth and reality, this film pulls into focus the paradox of being both perpetrator and victim, delving into the lives of those at the margins of history, reflecting on betrayal and the existence of free will.
