Three young men look forward to the birth of their first babies and talk about their role during pregnancy and their expectations of fatherhood. Feeling the first weak kicks, fantasising about the child?s character, the practical preparations - but also the occasionally painful road they have already travelled. When the moment has come, the cameras join them in the delivery room, where the mothers are left off-screen and the up-close fathers are almost literally overtaken by life.
