In 1964, programme maker Kees Brusse interviewed a number of youngsters from very different backgrounds and origins, including a prostitute, a single mother, a mechanic, a disabled pianist, a soccer player and a gay boy. He asked them extensively about their expectations, longings and ideas about all sorts of social and personal issues, like death, sex before marriage, relationships, their parents and music. The conversations were larded with pieces played by the pianist.
