Father and Daughter

Short Film, 2000, 9 min.

After a nomination in 1994 (for The Monk and the Fish), Dudok de Wit won the Oscar for Best Short Animation in 2001 for his second autonomous production, the touching Father and Daughter. In archetypical Dutch images, drawn with simple lines, a father and daughter ride their bicycles on a dike. The father says goodbye and disappears towards the horizon. For the rest of her life, the daughter keeps returning to this place. In 2007 admitted to the "Canon van de Nederlandse Film".
