0.08

Short documentary, 2006, 11 min.

A large part of the touching documentary 0.08 is fuzzy. This gives a rough idea of how the twelve-year-old Victor Mongay, keen soccer player and fan of FC Barcelona, sees the world with. He has an eyesight of 0.08, he's almost blind, but goes through life with great cheer and optimism. In home video style, filmmaker Johan Kramer shows how Mongay spends his days and what he dreams of. Like his meeting with Barça star Henrik Larsson, who kicks a ball with Victor while wearing some kind of diving goggles to imitate Victor's visual handicap. Victor's ultimate dream is of course to score a goal in Nou Camp, the stadium where his heroes perform. In this carefully stylised documentary, director Kramer abundantly plays with cinematic means, which reinforce Victor's hopeful message.
