Tableau vivant of an African-American family in New York, mother, son and baby, in director Erwin Olaf's recognisable, carefully composed style. The baby is crying, the boy is playing with a ball in the adjacent room. The city is heard in the background. The characters are the same as in Erwin Olaf's photo series of the same name. Photo series and film were inspired by a photo book he came across containing pictures from around 1900 of African-Americans.
