In Sons Without Fathers, three men openly and honestly share their stories. Leif, Alexandro and Nabil have one common denominator: they grew up in difficult circumstances and without an (emotional) bond with their father. In the documentary, the men talk about the lack of a father figure and what this has done to them. In all three, this led to a period of psychological and behavioural problems in which depression, drugs or crime temporarily took over. But they also talk about the turning point: one day they decided to look the loss of their father straight in the eye and change course.
