Portrait of the French anthropologist and documentary maker Jean Rouch, who for years made films with sound man Moussa Hamidou and the actors Damoure Zika, Lam Ibrahim Dia and Tallou Mouzourane, all from Niger. In 1991 Jean Rouch started shooting Madame l'Eau, much of which was made in Holland. This film tells the story of three men from Niger who, with the aid of a Dutch engineer, try to find a way of irrigating their fields. Rouch's Gang, follows the film crew and examines the approach of Rouch and the four men from Niger.
