Romantic feature set in the 1920s about a Dutch kid from Delft who returns to his parental home in the northern province of Groningen. There he falls in love with an American girl, the step-daughter of a former villager. The couple tries to lead a hippie life, but they clash with the narrow-minded inhabitants of the village.
