In this stirring, concise chronicle of an eccentric family, the picture on the dashboard of an old Jaguar is the key to the underlying drama. Two young sisters and their mother in negligee in the backseat evoke a lost and dramatic world, where all sorts of things might have happened. Then, the mother calls with a special message. The father picks up the phone somewhere else.
