Adaptation of the novel by Ivo Michiels. Pierre Wesselmans waits in his home port for news of when he must set to sea again. The departure is surrounded with much secrecy, so he has to report on board every day. The uncertainty creates a gaping chasm between him and his wife Laure. One day he decides not to return to her.
