Zorgvliedt - Morgenrood en het Utopia
In 1921, the architects Michiel de Klerk and Pieter Lodewijk Kramer were commissioned by housing corporation De Dageraad to build a large block of working-class houses in the Amsterdam Spaarndammerbuurt quarter. De Dageraad wanted to enhance the workers' self-esteem by housing them in nice apartments. This documentary examines to what extent the commissioners and contractors succeeded in doing that.
